Visualize My Value is a data viz project developed by Munus Shih (he/him) using the dataset from AIGA anonymous Graphic Design Salary Transparency spreadsheet.
The project tends to visualize the salary of NYC graphic designers with an emphasis on a more critical social science perspective. Users can choose betweeen three factors: gender, race, educational level and see how they play a role in determining one's salary in comparison to their years of experience.
The visualization is more of a question than a solution, wishing the users would question what power structure, prejudice, or mechanism is working behind these data and why it is what it is right now. The aim is to spark discussions rather than provide answers.
